About
Each creation Lucy makes is rooted in the beauty of handmade craftsmanship and nostalgic artistry. Using simple materials like paper, cotton, wire, and paint, she carefully shapes each piece by hand, drawing inspiration from vintage craft traditions. From delicate paper botanicals to whimsical figures made with papier-mâché and spun cotton, every piece is thoughtfully assembled with patience, creativity, and a deep attention to detail
Meet Martha Lucia.
Martha Lucia, also known as Lucy, is a maker and artist based in Southern Nevada, where she lives and continues to nurture a lifelong love for handmade creativity.
Born in South America, Lucy grew up in a culture where handmade creations were part of everyday life. Simple materials were often transformed into meaningful objects, planting the seeds for her lifelong love of crafting. Her mother, who dedicated more than 35 years to teaching crafts, further shaped that passion, often bringing Lucy along to workshops and creative gatherings from a young age.
Lucy’s personal journey into paper crafting began over 20 years ago when she handmade the birth announcements for her first son. That experience sparked a deep love for paper and its endless possibilities, leading her to explore scrapbooking, card making, and hand lettering.
Her work celebrates the idea that simple materials, paper, coffee filter, papier-mâché, wire, and paint, can be transformed into small works of art that evoke warmth, memory, and imagination.
Pretty Petals by Lucy is where those creations bloom: whimsical handmade art rooted in petals, nostalgia, and storytelling.
